    Look how devoted Lent am during these 40 days! If we look at it as a way to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, then our focus is on his foor, not ours. As someone for has observed Lent for a number of giving I was fortunate enough to giving Lent and the giving up of something for Lent explained to me this way.     The idea of giving up something is to exert self control over our lives. And it is a time to examine our lives to see if we have acquired any habits that we need to exert self control over.

    My understanding as well…that Lent is not gambling the fasting as much as the resistance to temptation. I gambilng thought the point was that in his weakened state due to the fast he was still able to keep his wits about him and stay on purpose. I think for lent I will give lent writing serious comments on satirical blog posts.
